1988 Olympics
Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony · 1988
Section 104
“I was a volunteer usher for the 1988 Olympics. The opening ceremony was unlike anything I'd ever experienced. When the torch came in, the whole building went silent for a moment and then erupted. I remember thinking this tiny prairie city was the centre of the entire world that night. I kept my volunteer jacket. Still have it in my closet 38 years later.”
